Subnautica Creatures: Too Hostile for Comfort

When playing Subnautica, I was excited to explore the vast oceanic world and discover its many wonders. The game's unique approach to survival and exploration had me hooked from the start. However, with recent updates, I've found myself growing increasingly frustrated with the creatures that inhabit this alien planet.

In my opinion, Subnautica was trying something new by making most creatures more natural in their behavior. They would only become aggressive if you bothered them too much or encroached on their territory. A few openly hostile creatures needed to be eliminated through creative means, adding a layer of complexity and strategy to the game.

But with the recent updates, it seems like that approach has been abandoned. Hyper-aggressive enemies now swarm after me for no apparent reason other than being coded that way. This has led to an over-reliance on weapons, particularly the stasis rifle, just to survive in areas where these creatures spawn.

I used to feel a sense of wonder and discovery as I explored the ocean floor, using my wits and caution to avoid encounters with hostile creatures. But now, I find myself constantly on edge, needing to freeze and slaughter groups of sharks just to clear an area. The game has lost its sense of immersion and realism.

It's not just the spawn rates that are a problem – it's the sheer aggression of these creatures. Bone sharks, in particular, seem designed to be immediate threats, swooping down on me with incredible speed. Sandsharks now swarm after me whenever I enter their territory, for no reason other than to make my life more difficult.

I miss the days when Subnautica's creatures were more natural and less aggressive. It was a game about exploration and discovery, not just survival against an endless horde of enemies. The recent updates have turned what was once a unique and engaging experience into something that feels all too familiar – a generic FPS game with enemies that are only there to provide challenge.

I hope the developers will reconsider their approach to creature aggression and spawn rates in future updates. As it stands, Subnautica has lost some of its magic for me, and I'm left feeling like I'm just playing a game rather than experiencing a living, breathing world.
